A Trainer Just Wanna Have Fun!
A. RING RING!
[Wherever you are, your Phone of some kind is going off. On the other end? It's this guy!]
Hey there! Ulsai! What's up? What cha doing? I'm bored, tell me things!
B. ENCOUNTER!
[At Any Route a near by tall grass or bush will wiggle before he jumps straight out with his arms spread out.]
Aha! Our eyes met! Ya know what that means, right?!
[From the playful gleam in his eyes it's clear he was simply just kidding around.]
[ooc: feel free to casually use any name on this kiddo--he'll just pretend it's his name and won't correct anyone at all.]

A [in which Bashou answers his phone, for once]
Ulsai -
[Hmm, this isn't sounding like a work call. But just in case, Bashou doesn't hang up or get salty just yet.]
Have we spoken before? Are you sure you've got the right number?
good thing Bashou can't see who's on the other end!
[His Johtonian accent ia thick the more he speaks.]
So anyway, whatcha doing?
no subject
That's interesting. Hmm, you sound like you're from Johto...? So am I.
[Not that you'd know it, since Bashou has been suppressing his old accent and dialect for years. But, there you go. That's his small talk quota for the day.]
So, did you find this number somewhere...? Or just dial some random digits?
no subject
What a small world we live in! In a totally unrelated region in fact.
[At the other's question he thinks. Did this person put their number up somewhere for others? Was he calling a completely private line? Aw to heck with it!]
Like I said I got nobody ta call 'round here! So clearly I dialed a buncha numbers ta see what stuck!
no subject
[A strange coincidence, Bashou was about to say, but maybe nothing was coincidence here.]
Do you need to have someone to call...? The people here seem very friendly. If you just go outside and look bored, somebody is bound to talk to you. Believe me.
[Bashou paused to roll his eyes, mostly at himself. This clearly wasn't a potential customer or client, and they didn't seem to have any idea whom they'd called, so he could just hang up...]
Have you tried calling the radio? They actively encourage it.
[Hmm, maybe there are a lot of bored and lonely people who've drifted into Ultern. Sounds like a good market for a premium rate phone line...but ugh, Bashou wouldn't want to manage that...]
no subject
I guess I don't gotta call random folks but ya never know what kinda neat things ya can learn that way from others.
[Says the trainer who absolutely exchanged numbers with a bunch of random trainers on his journey.]
But anyway! Sounds like you're a very busy person so I oughta let you go! Nice chatting with ya, Mister-Also-Johtonian! Catch ya on the flip side!
[He'll hang up his Pokegear before sighing, and smiling to himself.]
Ah well, ya lose some you win some!
no subject
Yes, well, I hope you manage to...make some friends. Or...whatever it is you'd like to get out of this. Good luck.
[Once the call has ended, Bashou wrinkles his nose and shakes his head. He goes to his call log and hovers his finger over the block button, but he reconsiders and leaves it alone. That was a strange experience, for sure, but it hadn't turned out to be a scam like he'd half-expected. And he didn't think it was likely to happen again...]
