this is the run, we are invincible
[The days are here, and the Battle Park is all done up for the show. Banners with a weird shield-like symbol announce the Dome-tide tournament, and everything is organized in an orderly fashion. Everyone who signed up will be directed to their place and given a free water and name tag, and spectators will get a program detailing all the matches and locations.
The prizes are... well, something that a weird nerd would think are good prizes. First prize gets a Nugget, second a bunch of EXP candy, and third and fourth get literally just 30 Ulternian Poké Balls each. She had to be talked out of giving you textbooks.
select your team, b yourself, and have fun!]

[HOW IT WORKS
The bracket was seeded with characters who were signed up on the thread linked above for the month's plotting post! Since there were 10 teams and thus four people would have had to play an extra round, I gave those slots mainly to people who signed up multiple characters. You can find the bracket here with all the results, which were done via RNG.
The matches can be threaded out on the post in their toplevels according to the RNGed results, or can be skipped, depending on player preference. There will be a toplevel for rounds 1, 2, 3, and 4, and another for general spectating.
ICly, this runs on the 12th, but backtags until whenever are fine as always! This is a player-run event, so if you need anything, let me know!]

He didn't know a thing about how Ash battled, but he might be strong. It wasn't too late to swap out his Pokemon, but he knew Marisso was ready to fight.
Immediately, X will gesture sending out the first attack.]
Marisso, Pin Missile!
[While it wasn't exactly the most effective move against a Poison Type, X's sole intention wasn't to just leave damage against Kebi but to purposely have Marisso's pin hit the arena, creating a large splash as a result.]

[Pikachu cheekily replies then starts cheering for Kebi on his first tournament match.
Seeing that X made his first move, Ash thinks quickly on countering it.]
Seviper, use Dark Pulse!

Kebi is usually a technical pacifist, only attacking when others attack him. That's survival. But this is different. Pikachu helped explain to the Seviper. In battles like these, no one is attempting to kill or majorly harm anyone. But Kebi still believes he shouldn't get too hurt.
He's still a wild pokemon. If he gets sent to a Pokecenter, the secret would be out. And that would be bad.
It takes a few seconds of delay, enough to be noticeable, until Kebi remembers the series of human vocalizations associated with the correct move, Dark Pulse, Kebi thinks. Yeah, it SHOULD be dark pulse. Kebu will use a Dark Pulse on the Chesnaught.]

He glanced to Marisso, who takes the brunt of Kebi's Dark Pulse.]
Marisso, Vine Whip!
[His Chesnaught quickly rose up to his feet to lash out with Vine Whip aimed for Kebi. While it wasn't the strongest move against the opposing Serviper, he was still just testing the waters so to speak.]

It'll work out somehow, as he tells himself.
Now focused on Marisso's Vine Whip, Ash makes his next move, hoping Kebi would respond quickly this time.]
Now, Poison Jab!
