[The days are here, and the Battle Park is all done up for the show. Banners with a weird shield-like symbol announce the Dome-tide tournament, and everything is organized in an orderly fashion. Everyone who signed up will be directed to their place and given a free water and name tag, and spectators will get a program detailing all the matches and locations.

The prizes are... well, something that a weird nerd would think are good prizes. First prize gets a Nugget, second a bunch of EXP candy, and third and fourth get literally just 30 Ulternian Poké Balls each. She had to be talked out of giving you textbooks.

[HOW IT WORKS

The bracket was seeded with characters who were signed up on the thread linked above for the month's plotting post! Since there were 10 teams and thus four people would have had to play an extra round, I gave those slots mainly to people who signed up multiple characters. You can find the bracket here with all the results, which were done via RNG.

The matches can be threaded out on the post in their toplevels according to the RNGed results, or can be skipped, depending on player preference. There will be a toplevel for rounds 1, 2, 3, and 4, and another for general spectating.

[You can easily find Alice after, helping to clean up the arena along with a small group of weird Surskit with cannon forelegs, who are picking up litter and debris. She'll wave if she sees you.]

[And after that's done, she just goes up to the now-empty award platform and clasps her hands underneath the last hanging banner.]

I don't know where you are right now, or who you're helping. But I hope this was good enough for you. It'd be nice to make someone proud.

[Elio's making his way over, waving to Alice. Right behind him is Greninja who follows closely.]

Alice! Let me help!

[He'll look around before reaching for a nearby broom that no one seemed to be using, or have claimed.]

The matches were spectacular to watch! It makes me wish I made it in time to sign-up too...but there's still the Ultern League to think about. I think I got a good taste of what some of my rivals will be like.

Oh, ulsai!

[Alice waves and picks up some more trash. The small army of Surskit all gather around and squeak up at Elio and Greninja, some carrying garbage in their front cannon legs.]

That's how I feel, too! I'm interested in trying out the League. After all, there's always something to find when you get into competitive battling, don't you think?

Ulsai!

[Elio happily greeted back. He'll smile over to the Surskit, while Greninja gave a polite nod in response. Greninja too will have an arm full of trash, going along with Elio's desire to help with the cleaning efforts.]

Yeah, I think so too! I'm even more pumped up now to battle against everyone who ends up participating in the league! It's been a while since I did competitive battling so I'm thinking of training some new Pokemon. How about you, Alice?

[The Surskit get to work tossing their garbage into a bag while Alice picks more up.]

I've stuck with my team for a long time, but I have ended up with some new friends here inadvertently. I've been starting to teach them a few things just so they can get out and have fun in this world. The PC is safe here, after all, though I did have some worries early on. So you're building a new team?

[Elio's sweeping away smaller rubbish with the broom while Greninja's also dumping the trash he's managed to pick up.]

It is hard to switch around your team, that's for sure. Even if I could just easily let them hang around the Professor's yard.

So far I've only got a Chikorita with me that's new. It's hard trying to think of what other Pokemon to add to my team, or who to switch around with.

Ulternian Chikorita, right? They're certainly cute. I don't know who you might have in reserve, but you could always try asking them what they think. Though I'm sure you've already done that, right?

That's right! Mine's a bit shy but she's still on the young side. It's going to take time for her to get her footing.

[He didn't mind though, as far as he knew he had all the time in the world.]

I guess that's true. I just know at least three of them would want to stay on my team...but I wouldn't mind starting fresh too. Just so I can surprise my rivals to be!

I see! I've never been the type to switch up my team, but there were particular circumstances that didn't exactly make that viable. But it sounds like you're having a lot of fun the way things are.

I like changing up my team when I can, personally. It helps me bond with all the Pokemon I've caught.

[Elio's beaming while thinking about it.]

Hehe, things have been a lot of fun, yeah! There's still so much to see and find here in Ultern.

There always is! That's how it is when you've got a mindset of discovery. There's always something new that you can't take for granted. Of course, being in an entirely new situation certainly helps with that.

You're right on that! I think it also helps a lot to have something to focus on while trying to figure out a way home, honestly. Working on the Pokedex, and challenging the Ultern League... it sure makes me excited to get up in the morning!

You're a positive person, aren't you? I have to say, it is nice.

Haha, I guess living in Alola really rubbed off on me!
