April showers bring May flowers
Lillie's too old for tea parties with dollies, of course. We've established that. But, just for today, she'd like to pretend, so, once again, she's having a little picnic tea party, only there's no sign and no one else is invited—or rather, it's a closed invitation party, with a very specific number of plates set out around the frosted and berry-topped Tres Leches cake with twelve candles: four plates for cake. She even set out three large bowls for Pokemon, filled with Pokemon food mixed with chinsuko and other little treats to make it special.
Lillie sat, with Snowy by her side and her well-loved Poke Doll in her arms.
"Gladion, mother, father... I'm so glad you could all be here for my birthday party. I've been looking forward to it all year!" Lillie said with a sunny smile. "This will be the first birthday party we celebrate together as a family... that I can remember, of course."
Of course, there was no one else.
Snowy made a soft, concerned sound. Lillie pet her with a slightly strained smile, then pointed to the filled bowl. "That's your bowl over there, Snowy! The other ones are, of course, for Gladion's Umbreon and father's Zoroark and Magearna. But before we start, I should blow the candles and cut the cake, of course..."
((Lillie wanted to celebrate with her family, so while crashing the party won't be initially welcomed, this is just so lonely, she'd probably be ultimately grateful for it! Or your characters can just ask what she's doing or whatever else.))

Finally she goes over.]
Hi! Everything looks really good. I'm sure your family would love it!

Y-yes, I'm sure they would. Thank you.
[Was this a little childish and strange, not to mention embarrassing? It definitely was.]
We were going to have the birthday party together, today... I planned for so long, so it felt like it'd be a waste not to...
Um, I don't have extra plates, but you can share with Snowy. It's a lot of food, after all! If you don't mind a paper napkin instead of a plate, you can have a slice of cake too, Evie.
[She truly didn't want to give anyone else those plates. It might be childish, but she really felt like they should be the ones eating from them. Maybe she'll change her mind over time, but for this moment...]

Thank you! I'd love to!

[It might be very selfish, but she felt as if keeping those plates and spaces for family would make it like they're really here and maybe bring them back to her someday...
For now, they could enjoy cake together. Lillie carefully gave Evie her slice.]
I hope you'll enjoy, Evie! This kind of cake is my favourite.

She happily eats.]
Oh, this is so yummy! What kind is it?

[Evie loves most things, really.]

Thinking on it, he and the Lillie he became friends with had shared so many secrets together from what they liked and disliked, to their thoughts on clothes. From little to big things, like how they felt on family. So it pained him, hearing her mention her entire family. He didn't quite know who her Father was but at the thought of Lillie, any Lillie being apart from her family made his chest ache.
He adjusts the strap of his bag for a moment before reaching in to pull out a Substitute doll from his bag. Bringing it up to his face, he'll slowly walk over. He'll speak up in his best impression he could muster of Professor Kukui, which really wasn't the best but gosh darn it, he's trying-!
"Alola, Lillie! I don't mean to Bulldoze in unannounced to your party but I had to Flame Charge my way over hearing that it's your birthday!"
[Elio, you precious little angel]
"My! Of course, you can join too, Professor Kukui, we can squeeze you in, Professor, and of course..."
She picked up her Poke Doll, hiding her behind her too, trying to mimic Professor Burnet now. "The more the merrier, I love big families!"
Lillie peeked around the Poke Doll, giggling a bit. "We have room for Professor Burnet too, of course!"
he tries is best!!!
"Alola, Lillie! I hope you have room for me too." He playfully winked. "I had to chase after Professor Kukui once he found out what day it was today." And of course, he was the one to bring a gift too! He just hoped that Lillie would like it.
Walking closer to the table, Elio will gently set the Substitute doll down onto one of the empty seats, and once he was satisfied with how it sat, he'll sit one seat away leaving room for "Professor Burnet".
As he's doing so he also pulled out a Quick Ball, setting it up onto the table.
"I know he's not the one you know--but Nebby is here too! He wishes you a happy birthday, Lillie."
