Masquerade
Wherever you might meet, there's an elegant-looking dancer in vivid warm hues and a touch of blue, wearing a flower hat, and carrying a pretty red folding fan! Perhaps a Pokemon's keen nose might pick up on James' scent or a trained eye might notice the movements (while very elegant, are more typical of Kanto... or even further west!), on top of being a bit... amateurish! The dancer looks quite pretty and composed when merely walking, standing, or fanning themselves, but given the slightest bit of attention... they seem to be overcome by a desire to be the center of attention, doing little dances and entirely over-the-top motions, with great enthusiasm! The absolute seriousness with which they carried themselves, coupled with the silly, over-the-top display, perhaps comes off as childish and attention-seeking.

“Well, you’re certainly… enthusiastic.”
Is that actually a compliment? It’s a little hard to tell. If she recognizes James, she’s at least not letting it show, perhaps as a courtesy.

But, circling back to that question~
"Why wouldn't I be, madame?" he asked, tapping the fan shut at his right cheek and winking.

“No reason not to be, I suppose, as long as you’re having fun. …Enthusiasm can only take you so far, though. Your moves are kind of all over the place.”
You didn’t ask for critique but you’re sure getting it. At least she doesn’t sound particularly mean-spirited when she says it. It’s just an honest (if blunt) observation.

Such cutting words, Mayday! He wilts—quite theatrically, yet oddly gracefully, like a flower bent by rain, a practiced motion—nothing in disarray, legs modestly together and to a side, although he opts for the nearest surface to wilt on (he can't let these lovely clothes get dirty!)... a pretty, posed, performance!
"I-is that true...?"

"You sure have a lot of enthusiasm."
A talking Eevee that is not Evie!

Yes, ma'am!
[Oh, when he turned, his smile faded into a puzzled look. He expected a lady somewhere... oh! Approaching curiously, while hiding half his face with the open fan.]
Were you quite possibly... the one who spoke just now?
[This Eevee doesn't have the same wide-eyed, bubbly, and innocent cheer Evie does! She seems a tad more mature and quippy.]

[She blinked sleepily at him.]
That's right. I'm Eadie.
[I also didn't realize I switched from prose to action tags, but I guess we'll continue with these!]
[He half-wondered if it was customary for Eevee to have names that rhyme with Eevee, but feared it might be impolite to ask!]
I am...
[Ah, he didn't think of a pseudonym!]
... a lady of mystery.
[He fanned himself. Name pending.]
Either is fine! I like prose better, but I adapt. :)
[Something seems off about that, but she sees no reason to spoil the person's fun. They're not doing anything actually suspicious.]
Is this your first street performance?
