[So, primarily becauseTrip can be still be unexpectedly timid sometimes Trip's not keen on the idea of calling into a radio show, he's going to try and mention Ken instead... except he doesn't know his username either, so. It seems he'll have to ask around...]

[The question's also one others might have answers too, so he'll make two posts about it, shortly after one another! They're publicpeep Pippi posts, so everyone else can see them too!]

[The (very new and nearly empty?) account's not very helpful in identifying him, the profile picture is scenery, although Serperior's silhouette might vaguely be recognizable in it, the location is "who wants to know?" and the bio is just a link to his Mimmeo... it might look suspicious or creepy, but it's rather unintentional!
He's just keeping a low profile and not really much of a Pippi user. His linked Mimmeo is definitely more active, although there's long stretches of inactivity (whenever he gets drifted home—two images are years apart, both during Tanabata? One at the festival proper, another aa cafe, enjoying a meal with a Yamask, it seems...), but it dates back at least three years, and has lots of photographs he's taken, although none are of himself. Just scenery, Pokemon (his own Unovan Pokemon and Ulternian ones he's seen, wild and trained), and quite a few of cafe desserts, and, more recently, and clumsy/modest attempts at cooking.]

[He won't quite call it a destined meeting, but... he did feel like there was some kind of purpose and order to it, especially how he kept reuniting with Gold...]
Gold's a lot happier now, sir, since he got to go home and talk with friends and family. He's more at ease...
[Was that adequate? He kept it vague! Even if it's a little embarrassing talking about him when he's right there...]
Oh! He also made some good burgers.
[Immediately regretting how childish and random that last addition sounded. Please let this phonecall end, he doesn't know what else to talk about!]

[Maybe Ken's here for a reason, too. He's definitely fitting in pretty well. And he's met some people he's glad to have met...
Ken smiles to himself, hearing about what Gold's been up to. He feels a little envious, hearing he was able to visit home... Ken still hasn't gotten to visit home once since he drifted here.
And burgers! That really makes him smile. Would Brett's burgers be anything similar to the burgers Ken's mom used to make? He's avoided talking about parents with Brett, considering everything he's gathered about his childhood, so he'd never in a thousand years ask him that. But Ken can't help missing his mom...]
Thank you, Trip. That's great to hear. And please, you don't have to call me sir, that makes me feel so old, haha!
2/3 I guess
You hear that? I made good burgers. [He says to Ken.] If you want some you gotta take a break from your job and come over to visit. I don't have a Pokemon that can fly so it'd be a pain to visit you.
Anyway, bye.
3/3
...Thanks. [He doesn't look at Trip when saying that, but it's not like there's anyone else he'd be saying it to.]
1/2
... huh? Oh, you're welcome.
[It now felt a little awkward and stiff too, so, he 'd rather go back to things beign more relaxed, so he playfully (if gently) patted Gold's shoulder.]
I could praise your cooking any day! [He knows it wasn't just about the burgers, but he was trying to lighten up the mood!]
I bet you could open up a restaurant, if you wanted to!

[But, the invitation was interesting...]
Has he visited before? How did you two meet? I mean, if you don't mind talking about it.
[Hr figured they might've met while he wasn't around.]
no subject
Nah, that'd be too much work! When I'm older, I wanna marry rich and never work. [He declares proudly.]
[He keeps smiling at the question of how they met, but... Hm. That's not really something he can tell Trip the details of, given how he freaked out back then when Gold was just talking to Attila at the cafe. "Well, Attila stalked me and told Ken where to find me and he showed up at my front door, looking for me!" ...Yeah, nope.]
He was visiting Ohritori Island on vacation and then came to talk to me since I look like his brother, I guess. [Gold shrugs casually.] It was kinda weird so I told him not to treat me like his brother and said he should call me Brett instead.
[Gold doesn't exactly hate Ken or anything, he just keeps an intentional wall between them because he doesn't want to have a family-like relationship with anyone that isn't his family. Ken's nice, after all. Gold can't let himself think of him as a brother or he'll... He doesn't really know what would happen or anything, but it gives him the heebie-jeebies. He feels like if he loses track of who his family really is he'll lose something. He can't explain it, even to himself.]
[Very much belated, sorry!]
Oh, still on that, huh? Sure, sure, Gold can be the trophy husband if he likes.]
Right, how could I forget?
That makes sense... it's better that he gets to know you for who you are instead of seeing you as a substitute for his brother, right?
It's basic that he can't help comparing you two, but... it's better to be loved for who you are than who you're not, right? Otherwise... it's like never being seen in the first place.
[Perhaps a bit hypocritical coming from someone who invests a lot into his image and putting on airs, but...]
no subject
Yup. It's kinda hard not comparing two people if they look the same and have the same name, so I'm basically doing him a favor letting him call me by a nickname! [He says with a playful smile, but there's a softness to his eyes.
Considering Gold met little Trip before this Trip, and called Trip by the nickname Icarus for a while until he could clearly see and think of each of them as a separate person, he knows what he's talking about. (That meeting was also when Gold thought up the nickname Brettuce for himself, but shortening it to Brett came later... How fitting.)]
no subject
And... yeah, Trip remembers those days too, even if his chosen nickname quickly felt a little embarrassing... it's a good memory too.]
... Brett sounds like a pretty subtle, low-key nickname... it's pretty cool.
[... maybe Trip hasn't caught on to it being short for Brettuce?]
no subject
[...well, it's not like anyone would guess that without being told.]
[1/2]

I wonder if this is to balance out knowing just what Pokemon want to be called...?
no subject
Yeah, human nicknames are way harder. I think Brettuce is pretty cool, but nobody wants to call me that!
[He pouts, jokingly.]
[Filed way for the future...]
... who knows? It just might happen.
no subject
Gold blinks, not sure how to react to that.]
...That'd be cool.
[We can wrap this up, but I figured bringing it back to this would be funny!]
[But for now, while Gold's a little confused, Trip's going to (try) to sneakily grab something of Gold's, not with any clear objective in mind, purely out of sheer... childish mischief? Petty vengeance? Some combination thereof?
He'll almost definitely fail, because his gaze strays to and lingers on what he wants to grab and he moves too slowly, like he thinks he's sneaking up on a Pokemon he wants to take a picture of, and if he moves slowly enough, they won't notice he's moving. A total greenhorn with a completely ill-fitting skillset for the task!]
[And you'd be right!]
Bam! Nice try, too slow, here you go! [And then he hands the phone right back.]
[1/2; ^^]
[His eyes widen! How did Gold see through all of that?! He then sighs wearily, pouting a little, but he's happy his phone is returned to him. The sulking is, fortunately, short-lived!]

[A wink!]
no subject
[Not really. Gold just learned the tricks on his own and thinks anyone who needs the skills will probably learn on their own too. He does return the wink to match Trip! ...He's not very good at winking.]
