[mingle post] Extreme summer weather
A. HEAT WAVE
It's a hot day in Ultern. The kind of day where you just can't muster the energy for anything. The kind of day where you feel like you could fry an egg on a car hood. On the radio, the usual DJ's voice reminds you to drink plenty of water, wear a hat and use sun screen, and to make sure your Pokemon are protected from the heat as well.
How are you spending a day like this? Eating ice cream or shaved ice? Resting in the shade? Taking advantage of the Pokemon Center's cooling system? Are you the type who trains outside no matter the weather? Or are you one of those poor souls who have to work outside in the blazing sun?
B. NATURE POWER
On another day, there's a sudden rainstorm. Water droplets attack the roofs in a loud barrage, wind howls, and you can hear the distant roars of thunder. It was hot just earlier, what happened? On this day, even the local radio station broadcasts nothing but static.
What are you doing on this stormy day? Caught by surprise while travelling? Staying inside and shutting all windows tightly? Listening to the rain with a cup of hot chocolate, or going out to enjoy the blasts of rain and wind on your skin? Taking shelter in the Pokemon Center, or knocking on the door of the closest house you can find to escape the rain? Exploring caves? Helping wild Pokemon deal with the weather?
Or maybe something completely different?

[Looking closer, that seems to be a piece of paper. Is Clackoon's trainer trying to send a note to someone?]
May I see it?
[Ken offers his hand. If Clackoon gives him the note, he'll read it right away in case it's important.]
[laptop finally charged (with the....... phone charger...... laptop charger broke), back to rping~]
"Ulsai! Ippee nifee debiru!
I sent Clackoon on his first errand. I figured he'd feel upset if he couldn't remember what we asked him to bring or if he dropped it somewhere, so he just had to find one of my friends or someone to ask for help. I hope you got this note from him and didn't find it crumpled on the floor somewhere... if you did, oh, well... we'll have to look for him, but he'll turn up! He was a wild Pokemon when I caught him.
If he DID give it to you, please tell him he did a good job and he can go home now! If you found him far from Chura, you can take him to the nearest Pokemon Center and tell him to stay put, while you call [—one of Buson's phone numbers here—].
Sorry for the inconvenience! He's still learning. Thanks for your patience! -B"]

"One of my friends," huh? Well, he sure found me. [Ken muses to himself as he takes his personal phone, an old Pokegear, out of his pocket. He looks at Clackoon and smiles.] Well done, little buddy! Let me just call your trainer now.
[Ken dials the number on the note and calls it. He'a pretty sure he knows who's going to answer!]

Buson will soon pick up! ]
Yo! How's it hangin'? [It's definitely Buson!]

Hey, this is Ken! [Even if it sounds like Buson knows who's calling, it's a habit to say his name when calling someone.] I found a cute little fellow out on his first errand, taking cover from the rain! We're outside the radio station right now, so would you come pick him up? I don't think he can make it back alone in this weather. And while we're at it, I wouldn't mind borrowing an umbrella if you've got one!

Oh, hey! Good to hear from ya! You found Clackoon... sure, I could get there, that's pretty lucky, I'm close by... an sure, I got a nice one you could share!
[Clackoon couldn't make out the words, but he could recognize Buson's voice and smiled, hanging onto Ken.]

Good to hear! We'll be waiting here. Right, Clackoon?
[He angles the phone slightly towards Clackoon.]

The rain's making it hard to move, huh? Sorry...
Got it, little buddy, we'll get you warmed up soon enough! Not far from where you are right now, luckily.

there's no Bulbapedia-like site to pull up Clackoon facts fromthey don't exist in his home world.] We'd probably better just wait for you, huh?[And Ken will stay on the phone until Buson gets there, keeping an eye out for him, and waving as soon as he spots him.]
[Oops, also not in his rom hack?]
[Buson will eventually arive, still in uniform, with a parasol to share with Ken and his old straw hat. Works great for rain or shine!
As for Clackoon, a little fireproof hood. He picked him up to carry, shifting the umbrella to the crook of his arm.]
Hey, little buddy... return.
[Clackoon can warm up inside his pokeball! Buson can now focus on covering Ken.]
Some weather, huh? Hope I wasn't late!
[Nope!]
Yeah, I figured! Even though I've got a fire-type of my own, it's pretty different handling Flambear than a Charmander, for example.
[When Buson shows up, Ken cuts the call and smiles as he sees Buson putting the little hood on Clackoon. How cute! Though he does wonder if there was any need for the hood if Clackoon was going in the Pokeball... Oh, who is he kidding, of course it's needed! Since it's cute!]
Not at all! You got here way faster than I expected! Did you come straight from your work? [Ken nods at the sailor's uniform Buson's wearing, as he gets under the umbrella.]
[Right, I remember no name or type and such... makes sense! ^^]
(Added comfort is also a reason.)]
Yup! Can't sail in this weather, so we're stayin' 'til tomorrow.
You got let out early, I'm guessin'?

Anyway, how have you been? We haven't gone drinking or anything in a long time, we should catch up!
